Awakening the Divine Feminine in our lives and world.
What is the Awaken Goddess Project?
-
The Awaken Goddess Project is a creative project meant to increase the visibility of the divine feminine in our world.
If you are here it means you found a goddess in the woods. They have been placed there by men and women like you, who would like to look out into the world and see representations of the divine in female form.
The goddess statues have been made by a network of unrelated amateur and professional artists around the world who have chosen to create a goddess of their own and place Her in a wild place to remind us all of our divinity. And the power of HER.
Started by an artist, the Awaken Goddess Project seeks to encourage others to look within to feel the divine spark that resides in all of us. She is all around us! In the woods it is especially easy to feel Her presence. She can be felt in the call of the birds, the wind in the grasses, the soft mosses growing on the forest floor. What does She look like to you?
God is by default male. Don’t believe me? Start talking with a friend/family about God and slip in the female pronouns (her, she) and you will immediately see some raised eyebrows.
This default tendency to interpret God as male is damaging to females in that it keeps them separated from their own divinity always making them feel as though they are lesser simply because of their gender.
